Goals, stakeholders, …

Goals

The goal of this UX driven platform is to allow Aisin Mobility to accelerate innovation and conception activities by mixing agile and UX methods. This will improve the conception process by reducing conception time, avoiding late changes in the prototype, reducing time-to-market and by increasing value and profitability.

What are the tools used to lead this platform? It will be guided by using XR, our simulator, the Maturity Matrix, interviews, by users’ tests, and many more UX methods and tools.

Stakeholders

By the width of this framework for sustainable mobility, this platform has the intention to address most of the stakeholders in this field. Specifically, the UX Centre of Excellence will comprise of many UX driven activities conducted by the working team of Aisin Mobility and the partners included in those projects. Each individual project will have many different stakeholders. In the end, it will benefit not only Aisin but also the external partners and clients.

Location

The main location of the platform is Aisin’s European headquarters at Braine l’Alleud near Brussels in Belgium.

Origin

The genesis of the UXCE platform can be traced back to project VIADUCT from November 2018 to April 2022. VIADUCT first brought UX activities to Aisin‘s innovation and conception development.

The goal of VIADUCT was to develop a tutor capable of teaching the user how the car can help them while driving. Specifically, an ADAS tutor was created that can advise during the driving session. This project proved the value of using UX within Aisin and also highlighted the need to create a body of UX knowledge, tools and expertise that will help us to run the UXCE: this UX knowledge is the goal of the UXDI project which we will discuss further.

The VIADUCT project enabled Aisin to build UX skills internally and grow its competitive advantage by providing solutions inspired and tested by real world users. Thanks to the VIADUCT project and the VIADUCT driving simulator, Aisin has received positive and supportive feedback enabling us to continue our efforts in building UX skills and knowledge and we now have a unique opportunity to establish our position as a global UX leader in sustainable mobility.
